Bell Ringers. A group of keen campanologists who rind the bell in Thornford Church. New members always welcome.
Made in Thornford. An annual autumnal event where local residents involved in all sorts of arts and craft sell their wares. A good place to start Christmas shopping.
Sustainable Thornford. A group of enthusiastic and concerned residents seeking to improve our local environment.
The Hub. Formed after the Covid lock down and open to all who drop in for a cup of tea and a chat.
Thornford and Beer Hackett Horticultural Society and Gardening Club. Boasting over 87 members the club holds monthly meetings and visits. They hold two plant sales a year and host the Annual Flower Show.
Thornford and Beer Hackett Allotment Association. We have 33 allotment gardens available for rent. All plots are let for the current year (April 2025 to March 2026).
Thornford Short Mat Bowls Club. Meetings Tuesday afternoons and Thursday evenings. The club is a member of the Blackmore Vale League.
Thornford Twinning Association. Thornford is twinned with Hudimesnil in France and was founded in 1995.
Thornford Village Hall. A modern community facility in the centre of the village.
Thornford Women's Institute. Boasting over 50 members meeting monthly. The WI is also very involved with providing refreshments at village events.
Wriggle Valley PlusBus. A bus service offering a weekly service to Sherborne and Yeovil on alternate weeks. A new monthly route to Dorchester is planned to start April/May 2025. This service connect Chetnole, Yetminster, Thornford and Bradford Abbas to these important town centres.
